Method
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix the flour, powdered sugar, and salt.
- Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, mixing until a dough forms.
- Press this dough into a tart pan.
Baking
- Bake the crust for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Let it cool completely.
Filling
- In another bowl, mix the strawberries with the granulated sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla.
- Pour the strawberry mixture into the cooled crust.
- Chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
